Why don't people think of sex as being this 'big major thing' anymore?

i guess because they're ready or media has told them its good. idk, im scared too, but if i was my age and met a guy i was totally in love with and knew i had a good relationship with, i would maybe have sex. but i am scared and i am totally cool for waiting for a guy i care for.
