Teething at an early age?

My daughter is only three months old, is that to young to start teething. The reason I ask is simply because I think she may be. The other night she was screaming and we thought it could have just been a bad belly ache, but my hubby looked into her mouth and sees these little white specks on her gums. We put orajel on there, and she became quiet. It's not everyday that she screams like that though. Some days she just chews on her fist. Could this be teething?
