Where should I apply Caulking?
I'm trying to remember how my Dad did it when he built our garage.I know he caulked around stuff like the door jams and window frames also where any wiring went into the garage.I think I would caulk the exterior panels but from the inside if that is possible. Any place water might have a way of leaking in I would caulk of where cold air can come inside I know they caulked the bottom of our walls before they put in the drywall. That was going from one interior room to another. They put the drywall on one side, then went to the other side and caulked the bottom of the drywall to the floor studs. The caulk was applied between the doorjamb and the wall studs Under and along the door threshold. Around electrical boxes and receptacles, phone lines.I read the entire chapter on roofing in my Populars Mechanic's book and it didn't say anything about caulking a roof where the ends of the rafters meet the exterior walls. Sorry I wasn't more help to you.
